Lega del Filo d’Oro Foundation ETS – Philanthropic Organization
“A precious thread that connects people who are deafblind with the outside world.” This is the concept that has inspired the name and mission of the Lega del Filo d’Oro since 1964, making it Italy’s leading point of reference for the care, education, rehabilitation, recovery and enhancement of residual abilities, as well as for supporting research aimed at helping people who are deafblind or have psychosensory disabilities achieve the highest possible level of independence.
The Foundation pursues its goals through highly specialized services, offering each individual a personalized rehabilitation program and the appropriate tools to communicate with others, build meaningful relationships, and regain, as much as possible, a life experience based on dignity and autonomy.
The activities carried out by the Foundation are only partially funded by public resources. Thanks to the support and solidarity of many people, the Lega del Filo d’Oro has been able to expand and diversify its services, increasingly responding to the needs of people with deafblindness and psychosensory disabilities, as well as those of their families.
Today, the Lega del Filo d’Oro operates in thirteen Italian regions and supports more than 1,400 users from across the country. It provides care, education and rehabilitation services for people who are deafblind or have psychosensory disabilities through its Centers and Local Services in Osimo (AN), the organization’s headquarters, Lesmo (MB), Modena, Molfetta (BA) and Termini Imerese (PA), as well as through its local branches in Novara, Padua, Pisa, Rome, San Benedetto dei Marsi (AQ), Naples, Rende (CS) and Nuoro.
